You know what’s sad? The fact that animators/crew members on the show even say that Yamino had nothing to do with any petition or never contacted the crew on any issue about Derpy and yet people are still using her as a scapegoat. And trust me, I’ve seen people get way more offended at Derpy than Yamino. 

I actually think I found the guy/girl responsible for the removing Derpy petition.

Now, if we’re going to talk about her and the Bubbline pairing or whatever the fuck it is and that little petition, lol she started that petition. 

So guys, get your facts straight before pointing fingers, or at the very least wait for something official. I’m not a Yamino defender or anything, I actually dislike her quite a bit, if any of you haven’t noticed. 

Not to get off-topic or anything, but the major problem I have with her (and actually quite a few people who are vocal on the whole Derpy is ableist debate) is that she really seems to say that the only reason why she thinks Derpy is offensive is because she has mentally disabled friends who are disabled, and that she’s basically saying:

“Oh well, I know a few people who were offended, so I’m going to say that the whole handicapped community is offended by this, too! SOCIAL JUSTICE!!!!!!!!1111”

Nope. I’m sorry, but unless the whole community of handicapped people (and I mean, every single person who is disabled, including myself) was in agreement that Derpy is offensive, then I would understand. But instead, we have a few people claiming that she’s ableist purely because she’s clumsy and has wall-eyes, and who are trying to speak for the whole disabled community. We can speak for ourselves what we find offensive, thank you very much. 

Also, she refuses to listen to anybody who has Autism, Cerebral Palsy, or anything of that nature who thinks Derpy is, holy fuck Batman, not offensive! I think that’s total bullshit, and it shows that she thinks she all that and a bag of chips because she’s interwebz famous for having a web comic (which, you can say is offensive to Christians/Catholics to be a counter-trolling douche).

Just another case of “Artists who think they’re holier-than-thou for X and Y reasons”, sadly. 

For the people who like Derpy’s new voice, but are also quite miffed that they took out her name. You can still here the old audio track over the new one, but other than that, it’s good. 

Tbh, this would have been a much better edit than what we go on iTunes.

Yep. Derpy is obviously offensive. Never mind the fact that Amy Keating-Rogers is the mother of a mentally and physically disabled son herself. Nope, Derpy is obviously a stab at mentally disabled people!

lol I think Derpy’s new voice is kinda cute, I mean there was nothing wrong with her original voice, but it’s not ear-ripping-off inducing, or at least for me. 

HOWEVER, editing her name out is kind of, for a lack of a better term, retarded. If there really was that many notes to Hasbro about her name, why not change it to something else? Ditzy is perfectly fine, and “Now, careful, Ditzy!” would have fit better than the terrible re-hash of Ashleigh’s line. 

Also, to the fandom: Please stop acting like children over this. I can fully understand the anger at Hasbro/iTunes, but when you’re acting like spoiled children who didn’t get that new, really, expensive, toy you wanted? Just, fuck man. It’s ridiculous. Boycotting Hasbro, or starting a petition, or hell, even blaming everything on Yamino, at this point isn’t going to do anything, it seems. Especially since that whole “SAVE DERPY” petition didn’t seem to work after all, and that Yamino just likes the attention and is now apparently baaawww’locking people. 

Also, remember the whole “Love and Tolerance” thing you guys like to spread around so much? Practice what you fucking preach. 

The Friendship Express DVD comes out in a week or so, and if any of you didn’t know, “The Last Roundup” isn’t edited, and in fact, has Derpy still in tact. I say if you guys really love Derpy that much, go out and buy yourself a copy and don’t bother with iTunes episodes again.

So, the Derpy merch is back on We Love Fine. Seriously, her name is listed and everything, unlike last night where it was missing and/or renamed. 

Honestly, I’m starting to want to say that the whole mini-fiasco last night was just some weird hoax, that or someone hacked into WLF, or some agreement was reached with Hasbro and the company. 

Also, you guys do know that you’re basically inflating Yamino’s ego by posting hate about her, and whoever the fuck is putting her on 4chan got her a MASSIVE amount of page views on dA, right? And, I highly fucking doubt she cares about your opinion, just like she more than likely doesn’t care about yours, mine, or ours. You guys are giving her a fuckton of views on her dA page. Aren’t you guys supposed to be telling people to avoid her? It seems like you’re doing the opposite. 

While I dislike her, think she’s butthurt, etc., I’m not going to give a minute of my time to go on her page and write her a note or comment about that sort of thing, all while giving her another page view of a million she probably receives now. 

And also, I’m not defending her or anything, I’ve actually been quite vocal (well, more so indirectly vocal lol) about how the things she says is/are bullshit and how much I dislike her. 

Guys, if Derpy’s name is being changed to Ditzy Doo, then let it be.Also, sending hatemail to Hasbro, or any company involved with changing her “canon” name is seriously low, and makes the whole fanbase look like uneducated idiots.

While the reason that Derpy’s name may be potentially changed isn’t a very solid or logical reason, whatever may happen to our favorite little Mail Mare, we can’t change it. 

And, I’d like to point out that until we have solid evidence from Hasbro than any name changes will be made in the show, I’m remaining skeptical. I’m not even going to begin on the whole “Anonymous Source said Hasbro is doing changing X in Y”, because it’s not from Hasbro or Studio B, or the crew for the show. The We Love Fine changing Derpy to Ditzy is the only solid evidence we have as of now. Nothing has been said on if they’re editing the episode just yet.

Just my 2 cents on this whole mini-fiasco (if you can even call it that, lol)

Honestly, the reason why I un-followed her was because of all the crap. She finds Derpy/Ditzy to be offensive? HOLY SHIT EVERYONE IS A TERRIBLE PERSON AND THEY SUPPORT ABLEISM EVEN THOUGH DERP HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ABLEISM AT FUCKING ALL! 

I never got to throw my 2 cents into the ring when the whole Derpy shizz went down on Ponychan, so I guess I’ll say it now: Derpy, Ditzy, Bright Eyes, whatever you want to call her, is not offensive to ANYBODY with a handicap. The fandom portrays her as a hard-working, single mother, who has over-come several obstacles with living with whatever mental disability she has. Nothing about that is offensive. Is she portrayed as stupid and slow? No, while her speech may not make sense, she is portrayed as a very smart pony.  I repeat, nothing is offensive about that. Whoever says so, needs to open up their eyes and learn to tell the difference between something that is truly offensive to people with a disability, and something that portrays a background character, who might I add we know nothing about and everything about her is FANON, with a disability in a good light, and not offensive at all. 

Getting a bit personal here, I have a physical handicap, and have associated with many disabled kids throughout my child hood, and let me tell you, they are some of the sweetest people I have ever met. If anything, the fanon version of Derpy portrays some of the people I’ve met quite nicely, and not in a negative, degrading way at all. 

TL;DR: Derpy isn’t an ableist tool.
